Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Turning Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC turning machines to produce high-quality precision components according to customer specifications.,

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC turning machines (XYZ Proturn and Doosan Lynx) to produce components with tight tolerances.

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine machining operations.

  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and tooling setups for each job.

  • Monitor machine operations to ensure conformance to quality standards and adjust machine settings as needed.

  • Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Collaborate with team members to optimise machining processes and improve efficiency.

    Engineering apprenticeship preferred.

  • Proven experience as a CNC or Manual Turner or similar role in a precision manufacturing environment.

  • Milling experience also welcome

  • Proficiency in programming, setting up, and operating CNC turning machines specifically using Prototrak and Fanuc controls .

  • Strong knowledge of G-code programming and CNC machining processes.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and quality control techniques.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve complex machining problems.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
