Role Overview: As a Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator, you will ensure our clients' books are impeccable and support our Payroll Manager to ensure payroll runs like clockwork and all deadlines are met. A flexible approach is a must to meet all deadlines at all times with emphasis during the peak payroll periods.

Your attention to detail, ability to pre-empt the needs of our clients and business, and friendly demeanour will make you a valuable asset.

Responsibilities

Bookkeeping:

Keep financial records in tip-top shape using accounting software (predominantly Xero, but experience with Sage and Quickbooks would be beneficial).

Uploading of invoices, receipts, and expenses.

Reconcile bank statements.

Prepare financial reports.

Experience with CIS beneficial but not essential as training will be provided.

Preparation and submission of VAT returns.

Payroll Administration:

Support our Payroll Manager throughout the month but especially during the payroll periods.

Calculate and process employee salaries, benefits, and deductions.

Stay on top of tax regulations.

Answer clients payroll queries.

Meet all payroll deadlines

Proven experience as a bookkeeper & payroll administrator essential.

Familiarity with accounting software essential.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Supportive team player.

Requirements:

Relevant qualifications preferred but not essential as you will work closely with our payroll manager & a qualified bookkeeper.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, teams).

Ability to work independently and as part of our friendly team.

Attention to detail.

A warm, client-oriented & flexible approach essential.

Excellent telephone manner.

Self-Starter with the ability to pre-empt situations to improve client experience.,

  • Bookkeeping: 3 years (preferred)

  • Payroll Administration: 1 year (preferred)
