What does the role entail?
Audit Intermediate expectations:
1. Audit file

  • Fieldwork


  • (a) Complete all testing excluding complex areas
    (b) Complete tasks set by the audit senior/manager
    (c) Take responsibility for completing work assigned
    (d) Ensure any issues arising from work assigned have been flagged
    (e) Working papers are neat and tidy to follow
    (f) Ensuring completion of the audit and accounts programmes
  • Completion


  • (a) Clearing review points relevant to work assigned
  • Effective communication with the senior/manager


  • (a) Providing regular updates to the senior/manager
    (b) Handover to senior/manager at end of audit
    2. Take responsibility for Corporate Services Assistants
  • Check-up with new Corporate Services Assistants to ensure they are comfortable with their tasks set

  • Answering queries

  • Inform senior/manager of additional training needs


  • 3. Take responsibility for workflow and Float
  • Review upcoming Float bookings and check with senior/manager information has been received

  • Review own Float to ensure adequate time for jobs and discuss any shortfalls with senior/manager

  • Stick to fee budget rather than Float booking and assist colleagues if you have spare capacity

  • Keep in touch with the progress of the job after Float time expires to ensure completed


  • 4. Technical updates
    Keep up to date with technical updates on Teams and implement changes on audit files immediately

  • Minimum of 3 years' generalist experience in an audit role, within practice.

  • Willingness to combine the demands of a full-time role whilst studying for professional qualifications.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Provide solutions to problems.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy of work.

  • Ability to prioritise own workload and be proactive.

  • Have an aptitude for figures and an interest in business and commerce.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel., Be educated to a high standard (GCSE/degree level)

  • Be AAT (or part ACA/ACCA) qualified.
