Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity, for a Area Housing Manager to join our busy Neighbourhoods team.

As an Area Housing Manager, you will have responsibility for leading the delivery of best in class customer-focused tenancy, estate and neighbourhood management for a range of tenures (excluding supported housing) in a geographically dispersed area comprising of approximately 3,000 properties through your team of Housing Officers working alongside our Enforcement team.

You will proactively lead and manage the delivery of comprehensive tenancy, estate and housing management services within the area in line with LiveWest's purpose, vision, values and business objectives. You will be responsible for identifying, minimising and managing risk through the effective use of internal controls. Overseeing and taking responsibility for all health and safety checks, scheme risk assessments and visual fire inspections and ensuring that any fire risk actions/recommendations are completed for all schemes in their area.

You will develop, build and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders to maximise partnership work in the delivery of all tenancy, estate and housing management services. You will create and maintain effective and relevant communication arrangements for the team within a dispersed and remote working environment. You will also identify positive practice and new ways of working, to deliver on-going service improvements and better outcomes for customers and LiveWest. You will actively seek and act on customer feedback and resolve complaints within a reasonable timeframe, liaising with other teams where necessary.

Supporting our most vulnerable customers to sustain their tenancies and prevent homelessness is a key objective for LiveWest, therefore you will be expected to manage and motivate a team of Housing Officers who work with our customers to help sustain their homes, ensuring that where necessary, legal requirements under the Civil Procedure rules, pre-action protocols and best practice are observed.

This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis and a flexible hybrid working style is an option. This role will cover the Plymouth and South Hams area.

A detailed knowledge of tenancy and estate management and dealing with all tenancy breaches to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Experience of successfully leading a team within a social housing or related profession and be able to demonstrate that you can analyse data.
- Enhanced performance or working practices to deliver improved effectiveness and value for money in a previous role.
- Understand the financial context of housing associations and how to effectively manage financial responsibilities to achieve organisational objectives and priorities.
- An understanding of anti-social behaviour, service charge and leasehold legislation and best practice.
- Proficient level of literacy and numeracy.
- Educated to minimum of A level or equivalent (degree level or equivalent). (D)
- A CIH relevant qualification or equivalent expertise through study and experience.
- CIH Level 4. (D)
- Show evidence of continuing professional development.
- Hold a full valid UK driving licence and assess to a suitable vehicle., Disability Confident
