Full Job Description

  • Taking bookings for the weekly market and be responsible for assigning pitches

  • Taking bookings for weddings which are held in the Jacobean Room

  • Preparation of meeting agendas for despatch to Councillors

  • Attending meetings to take and transcribe minutes

  • General admin work

  • Supporting events and the prep for these

  • Tourist information advice

  • Being creative to design posters and other communications materials

  • Dealing with stakeholders i.e. Local Authority

  • Research including getting costings for services, products etc.

  • Placing orders

  • Responding to enquiries from members of the public via email, phone and in person

  • Uploading information to the Council website

  • Responsible for archiving and file management


  • The training you will be getting

    Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Holmer Road (HR4 9SX).

    You will receive training a training plan that is specific to your qualification, with sessions that are delivered through a combination of face-to-face and remote.

    Additional training for functional skills in English and Maths will be undertaken if needed.

    You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment to gain your Business Administrator Level 3 qualification., We are looking for an apprentice administrator to become a full-time, permanent member of the Ledbury Town Council Team upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. As part of the team, you will be offered the opportunity to take additional training in local government matters which could help you progress through the council or open up opportunities in other local government organisations in the future.

    Ledbury Town Council is a Parish Council, which is the bottom level of local government. We have been in existence for over 40 years and provide a service to local residents to help improve the local community and economy of Ledbury. The successful applicant will be required to support the Clerk and Deputy Clerk, as well as other members of the Council team, including Councillors on a variety of administrative tasks and other projects. They will be expected to support civic, town, and council events at weekends and evenings where required. They will also be required to support the Community Engagement Officer in respect of the market and council events. The role would suit someone who is looking for a varied rewarding role, and who is adaptable to change and can work under pressure and to timelines.
