Full Job Description

An Accountant is an essential position in Our accountingdepartment. The accounting team is responsible for maintaining an efficient, organised andaccurate finance function for the business and the Accountant is responsible forassisting with a variety of day-to-day financial operations such as sales and purchase ledgersand basic bookkeeping.

The Accountant will typically report into the Accounts Manager and the role will include managing the team of assistant accountants, and others tasks related with the Accounts System under direction of the Accounts Manager.

Accountabilities / Key responsibilities

An Accountant will normally be expected to undertake a broad range of duties and responsibilities, which can include.

  • Maintaining spreadsheets for the department.

  • Reconciliation of Bank Accounts

  • Working with sales / purchase ledger.

  • Credit control.

  • Preparation of accounts.

  • Managing the department's post.

  • Writing and handling cheques.

  • Dealing with purchase orders

  • Reconciliation of finance accounts.

  • Processing invoices & expense forms.

  • Following and using Dragados Accounts systems.

  • Providing administrative support to the team.

  • Working closely with individuals across the business at all levels.

  • Filing and archive of invoices

    1. Enthusiastic, committed and a fast learner with previous experience of a busy environment.

  • 2. Previous relevant experience in an accounting position.
    3. Computer skills, mostly with Excel and an aptitude for numbers.
    4. Understanding of bookkeeping and accountancy procedures.
    5. Ability to work with individuals across departments and liaise with external customers and contacts.
    6. Solid organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
    7. Hold a relevant accountancy qualification.
    8. Demonstrated skill in team working and collaboration.
    9. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills for a highly collaborative working environment.
