Visitor Experience Manager- Access Community Trust promote social inclusion for the community benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society.  We are currently recruiting for an operational experienced Visitor Experience Manager, to lead our new project at The Waterways, Great Yarmouth

As a Visitor Experience Manager you will be responsible for leading a culture exceptional service, every time, for everyone as well as involved in the delivery and setting of the strategic direction of visitor engagement across the project as well as the day to day management of the visitor experience and offer across the Waterways project.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Seek out opportunities to drive income, harnessing ideas from your team and customer feedback in order to improve and develop the business.
  • Oversee marketing, learning, programming and events. You will pull on the expertise of Access Community Trusts colleagues and specialists to contribute to and help deliver your propertys business plan.
  • Manage operational, project and delegated budgets and contribute to the financial planning process. 
  • Responsible for setting, monitoring and achieving stretch targets, maximising income and profitability, using the Trusts procedures and instructions.
  • Coach and motivate your team to have excellent knowledge of the site and their products to boost sales and maximise revenue.
  • Recruit talented and enthusiastic people, develop and coach them, driving strong performance through setting clear objectives and giving regular feedback and reviews.
  • Proactive in maximising volunteer involvement.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Qualification and/or 3 years experience in relevant discipline e.g. tourism, visitor attractions, hospitality, heritage management or business management. 
  • Proven track record of planning activities which ensure great visitor experience.
  • Operational experience in relevant interpretation, engagement and event management / visitor operations ideally in the heritage or visitor attraction sector.
  • Leadership skills including delivering performance targets as well as coaching, team development, motivation, and communication.
  • Experienced in managing budgets to maximize sales, income and control costs of small projects and contracts.
  • Excellent people skills with experience of working with volunteers and knowledge of the framework that the Trust uses to support the volunteer journey.
  • Experience of managing operational risk, including how to assess and manage risk effectively.
  • Advanced IT skills (Microsoft Office)

This is a full time role to include variety of hours across week days, evenings, weekend and bank holidays.   Offering a salary of £23,023 - £29,608 depending on experience.
