Trainee Reporters, Ashford (Kent) and Hampstead (London)
An opportunity has arisen for three trainee reporters to join our hard-working news teams.
The Hampstead-based role will be to work across titles including the Ham & High and the Kilburn Times websites and newspapers. The two roles in Ashford will involve working across titles including Kent on Sunday, the Kentish Times websites and newspapers.
We are seeking people with a desperate desire to shine as an essential part of our news gathering teams, with an appetite for getting the very best stories and digital content ideas, an ability to come up with non-stop ideas, and a need to prove themselves in this highly competitive industry.
The right candidate will be able to turn around crisp, informative and entertaining copy on everything from hard-hitting crime stories to in-depth features while having an audience-led digital-first approach.
Support and encouragement will be provided to develop your talents, paving the way for you to rise up the ranks.
Youll need to be able to perform under pressure, prioritise workloads, be an excellent communicator both verbally and with the written word, and be a team player.
Candidates should have an NCTJ preliminary certificate (including 100wpm shorthand).
For the jobs based in Ashford, it is essential you have a car and hold a full valid driving licence.
