City College Norwich is currently recruiting for a part time Technician to expand its highly skilled team supporting learning across an institution that now comprises of several sites. Although primary working with the Sports and Public Services teams at City College Norwich and Easton College, the successful applicant will be required to work in a range of roles, supporting other curriculum areas and events where necessary. 

  

Technician work is varied and follows the changing needs of the curriculum, but a successful applicant would certainly be responsible for the following aspects. 

  

  • Workplace Health and Safety including writing COSHH and Risk Assessments 
  • Ordering equipment and materials 
  • Maintaining areas and equipment, including repairing items where possible 
  • Preparation of materials and learning spaces for lessons 
  • Correct and safe disposal of waste materials 
  • Support for events and shows 

  

Working experience of a sporting environment is crucial to the role and qualifications will be looked upon favourably. 

  

You will work closely with outstanding lecturers and will work alongside staff from several courses within the college. You will be line managed by one of our two Technician Team Leaders, who look after Technicians and Technical Supervisors that work across a wide range of curriculum including Science, Sport & Leisure, Health & Care, Hair & Beauty, Hospitality & Catering, the Arts, Engineering, and Construction. You may be involved in exciting projects on campus, county-wide or nationally, and there will be opportunities for the right applicant to develop their skills.
