Your Responsibilities:
GSK's Worldwide Real Estate and Facilities (WREF) deliver the right space in the right location, and at the right cost, with industry competitive and customer focused services. The organisation oversees and operates circa 16 million square feet of space with a population of over 28,000 GSK and other staff, including all pharmaceutical and consumer health R&D laboratories and pilot plants, as well as commercial office accommodation for all GSK business units. This portfolio of property currently requires an annual spend of more than £450m in operating costs and £200m in capital investment.

Due to sustained long-term investment at many of GSK's sites we are looking for a dynamic and driven Technical Operations Manager to focus on the provision of Electrical Engineering support to the WREF organization. This position reports directly to the Ware R&D site's WREF Site Operations Director. You will work to ensure that delivery is aligned to local needs and priorities (of the business), whilst ensure that cost, quality and compliance metrics are achieved by key contract partners. Your role will include the development and improvement of processes that support the operational delivery model and interfaces with other GSK functions, service partners and other 3rd party providers. You will also be responsible for regional compliance (to external licensing and statutory requirements) for engineering services provided by WREF.

Important elements of your role include verifying GSK's Contract Partners' Critical and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure GSK's support services requirements are met. As required you will lead investigations and mitigation plans at site-level for service failures, critical/major audit findings, dispute resolution and process improvements. You will be the GSK Responsible Person for external license to support the statutory Duty Holders in WREF. As the Responsible Person you will ensure compliance to Quality and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) requirements and ensure that Engineering is a safe place to work and 'inspection ready' at all times.

In addition to the provision of high voltage electrical systems, your responsibilities will also extend to life safety systems, electrical and machinery safety, and classification of hazardous areas (and management if required).

About You:
This role would suit a driven and motivated individual who has strong experience of working in a complex GMP environment. You will be a qualified engineer, with a strong track-record of delivering operational management. Strong people- management skills and experience, as well as a proven ability to drive performance, are considered essential. It is imperative in this role that you demonstrate an ability to drive common-objective thinking, with a complete focus on providing solutions. You will need to be persuasive, have a strong continuous improvement mindset, and have proven experience of dealing with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups. Ideally you will have worked in a highly regulated-industry (experience of the provision of complex facilities support services to a large office or pharmaceutical facility would be highly advantageous).

CLOSING DATE for applications: Monday 19th November (COB) 2018.
