Support Advisor
Location: King's Lynn, PE30 4NG
Salary: £20,000 per annum, plus benefits
Hours of Work: 37 hours p/w (Full-Time) 22.5 hours p/w (Part-Time)
Job Type: Full-Time and Part-Time roles available
About the Company:
Freebridge Community Housing was set up in 2006 and now manages around 7,000 homes and 17 sheltered schemes in West Norfolk. We employ over 200 people and as part of the e2 consortium, we aim to build strong and sustainable communities by providing high quality affordable homes within well designed neighbourhoods.
Support Advisor Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out individual support reviews and preparing action plans to identify new or changing needs and to address financial, social, mental, physical and emotional wellbeing
  • Liaising with customers' families, relevant support services and other agencies as required to ensure timely and appropriate referrals to any identified customer needs
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of housing and welfare benefits to provide accurate and appropriate advice to customers
  • Building positive relationships with sheltered scheme customers and overseeing communal area activities to develop scheme communities to enhance social wellbeing
Support Advisor Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a support service role or environment, preferably services for older people
  • Previous experience of all MS Office applications i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook etc. including a relevant IT qualification i.e. GCSE pass or equivalent
  • Understanding of the role and scope of Social Housing providers, and Sheltered Housing.
  • Current knowledge of housing and welfare benefits.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of adult safeguarding.
  • Awareness and appreciation for the likely support needs of older people, and the knowledge of the local services, guidance and support available.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE passes (or equivalent) including English and Maths (A-C grades)
  • Awareness of the relevant health and safety implications and legislation for facilities management on a sheltered scheme, including Fire Safety.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
