Student Learning Mentor

£19,202 to £21,414 per annum

 

We are seeking an individual to develop a personalised and supportive mentoring relationship with a group of year 10 students through to year 13.  The students, from Norfolk-based schools, will participate in the Villiers Park Norfolk Scholars Programme for those with high academic potential and from less advantaged backgrounds. The interactions will range from ongoing mentoring support, masterclasses, through to residential summer schools which take place over several days.

 

Candidates should have a keen interest in broadening access to higher education and UEA. You should have excellent organisational, communication and team working skills with practical and competent IT abilities. Based in the Recruitment and Outreach Department, you must have recent experience of mentoring and working with young people in a similar role is desirable. 

 

The appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

 

The post is available from 01 August 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter, on an indefinite basis.
