Overview:

This is an exciting permanent role which will support the administration, delivery and development of Volunteering, Student Media, Raise and Give (RAG) and the Student Engagement Department at Queen Mary University of London Students Union (the Students Union). The role will support the Volunteering Coordinator and Student Engagement Coordinator with operational and administrative tasks.

The successful candidate will have a passion and enthusiasm for improving the student experience and have a positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will have the ability to use their own initiative, be flexible when faced with a variety of impromptu tasks, and have experience of working with students.

The Students Union represents and supports over 23,000 students who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL). Our mission is Together, we improve students lives and the growth and development of the work of the Student Engagement team is embedded in the Students Unions strategic plan.

Our community volunteering service engages around 1000 students each year through a charity brokerage service, Give Volunteering a Go programme of one-off opportunities, and 15 student-led volunteering groups. We have 9 Student Media Outlets who produce content ranging from creative writing to radio and we support student representatives and student groups to raise over £45,000 for charity each year through Raise and Give (RAG). We support over 250 societies and we recruit volunteers to help new students move into halls and support with the arrival of new students each year. The Student Engagement Administrator will work across these areas providing administrative assistance in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have a passion and enthusiasm for improving the student experience, improving the inclusivity of our activities and have a positive attitude and commitment to providing an excellent service. They will also have the ability to use their own initiative and be flexible when faced with a variety of impromptu tasks. Applicants should have excellent organisational and communication skills, have experience in administration, and have the ability to work with a wide range of people from all different backgrounds.

The post is a permanent full time (35 hours a week) position. Starting salary will be £22,212 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance and raises 1 point annually as set out in the QMUL Pay and Grading Structure. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, plus university closure days, pension scheme, free gym membership and an interest free TFL season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
