Sessional Lecturer Maths

Sessional Lecturer in GCSE and Functional Skills Maths
Approximately 13.3 hours per week hours per week (400 hours for the academic year)
£25.22 per hour (inc £4.79 per hour holiday pay)

The Post

We are pleased to offer a  part-time position within our large and ever growing innovative and proactive team.  We are one of the largest post-16 GCSE centres in the UK, teaching English and Maths to approximately 4,000 learners. Some experience of teaching students with barriers and challenges to learning would be an advantage and you may be required to course lead Maths within a vocational curriculum area.

English and Maths

We teach GCSEs and Functional Skills. Key features of the Centre include:

  • Close work with vocational course teams across the College to ensure successful Maths outcomes for those studying full time qualifications. Each vocational area has an Maths course leader.

  • An English and Maths Study Centre where students can access one-to-one or small group support.

  • A specialist tutorial team working closely with students, teachers and parents and providing support for progression to further and higher education, employment and training

  • Dedicated, specialist accommodation, including subject base rooms

  • Part time adult provision offering English, Maths, Biology and Psychology GCSE, and Functional Skills English and Maths to approximately 500 students across day time and evening classes.

  • Access to the Colleges wide range of specialist services such as our Study Centre, library, additional learning support and personal and financial support.

  • A dedicated, friendly and informal working environment
