We are currently recruiting for a Sales Account Manager to join our successful team in Exeter. This role is focussed on creating compelling advertising and marketing solutions for local businesses in Sidmouth and Exeter within East Devon.

A good understanding of the Retail and B2B sectors will assist you in this role working in consultation with local SMEs throughout the area, presenting the print and digital advertising opportunities that exist through our well-known brands such the Sidmouth Herald.

As the Sales Account Manager for the area, you will be in regular consultation with an array of clients, providing advertising and marketing solutions on our portfolio of products. As well as managing existing relationships you will constantly seek out new clients to present Archants portfolio of print and digital advertising solutions.

The challenge for local media businesses to remain relevant to their core SME customers is significant. An integral part of the role is to build a strong business network of contacts by attending local events and becoming the face of local media advertising and a trusted advisor to these businesses.

The majority of your time is spent visiting clients on patch, presenting our portfolio of products, learning and listening and providing credible consultations with businesses throughout the area. You will be supported by a manager in our Exeter offices with daily communication and a weekly team meeting/one-to-one.

You will devise creative client campaigns and be inventive with the way you present the packages that are available. You will work independently, making decisions and bringing in new revenue streams from clients that you will then nurture.

ABOUT YOU

You are a motivated individual with experience working in a fast-paced telephone sales environment, ideally from an advertising/media industry with a thorough understanding of the sales process and a professional, consultative approach.

You are confident picking up the telephone and enjoy building relationships and communicating the benefits of our market-leading advertising services, and will be used to anticipating and overcoming objections.

You are a charismatic and proactive self-starter who enjoys working on your own initiative, and are outgoing, personable and unwaveringly positive. You are also highly organised with exceptional attention to detail, and while were not looking for techie geeks, you are a web user and know your Twitter from your Instagram.

Above all else, you are a trustworthy and hardworking individual, passionate about selling and someone who gets a real buzz from hunting for sales and achieving results, whilst thriving under the pressure of a target-driven environment.
