Job Title: Registered Manager

Location: Acle, Norfolk

Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 plus benefits

Registered Manager Clover Childcare Services provide a supportive and therapeutic home environment for children whose lives have been characterised by trauma. We are now looking for a Registered Manager to join our team based in Acle, between Norwich and Great Yarmouth, on a full-time permanent basis.  

Clover Childcare Services run three specialist therapeutic childrens homes; Clover Lodge which offers 5 places for children currently aged 8 12 years, The Old Rectory which overs 6 places for children aged 7 12 years of age and Oxcroft which will offer 2 places for young children from August 2019. We also have a school which was opened in September 2018 and provides education for our children, all of whom have complex educational needs. We have been awarded outstanding and good ratings from Ofsted every year.

As the Registered Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • To operate within the spirit and framework of the Children Act 1989 and fully comply with the professional standards outlined for residential care in the Care Standards Act 2000, Childrens Homes Regulations 2015 and current and future guidance and regulation.
  • To take an active part in the evaluation and development of Company Policies and ensure these alongside practices and procedures are implemented.
  • To, at times, take on-call responsibility.
  • To set and evaluate care standards.
  • To provide direction, manage, motivate, supervise and identify development and training needs of staff to promote and facilitate the highest standards of care.
  • To participate in recruitment and appointment of staff.
  • To be responsible for the health and safety and welfare of self, all employees, service users and members of the public in relation to Oxcroft and ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and regulations. To undertake risk assessments in relation to people, premises and equipment to identify any risk factors and take any necessary/appropriate remedial action required.
  • To be responsible for budgetary/financial control in relation to residential care.
  • To ensure collation and completion of statutory reviews, reports to parents and other documentation as is necessary.

Skills and Attributes:

  • NVQ Level 4 or Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare would be desirable but not essential. 
  • Previous managerial experience in a similar environment
  • Strong working knowledge of regulatory standards

This is a full-time permanent role. The role will include office based work and direct work with children and may include some weekend, bank holiday or sleep in cover (for which a sleep-in allowance will be paid). In return we are offering a competitive salary up to £30,000 to £35,000 (depending on experience), plus benefits.
