PREVENTION & POSITIVE ACTIVITIES COORDINATORS

West Norfolk / East Norfolk & Waveney / North and South Norfolk.

 

Working across four localities, four new roles funded via Public Health and as part of Norfolks Suicide Reduction Strategy will be responsible for supporting men 18+ who are experiencing a sense of hopelessness leading to suicide ideation.

 

The roles will provide assertive outreach and support to individuals at the edge of crisis. The roles complete a service team comprising of seven posts. They will fit and be closely linked to the work of NHS Norfolk and Waveney CCG and related structures each different in each locality.

 

The roles will include identifying and implementing strategies to enable these individuals to overcome barriers and ultimately to exit patterns of suicide ideation, and to engage in meaningful activities and social connections.

 

The Prevention & Positive Activities Coordinators carry a caseload of clients and lead on on-going support and direction for clients through a casework management approach.

 

An understanding of the complex issues contributing to suicide ideation and the impact on the lives of individuals and families is essential. As is experience of effectively supporting men via key-work, crisis intervention work, case recording, face to face work and other interpersonal work.

 

Hours: 30 / week. Salary: Circa £25,000 pro-rota. Initially a 1 year fixed term contract.
