Kendal Nutricare has the following brands, Kendamil, Kendalife, Kendakids and Kendamom, to name a few, with market shares in UK, Europe and Asia. Their range caters for consumers across their entire life cycle from adult meal replacements to infant and toddler milk.

They are now looking for a Multi Skilled Shift Engineer to join their award-winning friendly team.

About the Multi Skilled Shift Engineer job

Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, you will provide a dedicated engineering service (with a more Electrical bias) to a range of high-speed complex packing equipment, all of which include fault diagnosis and rectification, line changeovers, planned maintenance and improvement so that they may function safely and efficiently and meet production requirements.

The team need the competence and knowledge of an electrician, however the majority of the work tends to be mechamical. Be an integral part of the production team by assisting in training and coaching operators in the machinery functionality. Be fully involved in improving RFT (Right First Time) and other quality issues.

About you

  • The ideal candidate will have an electrical apprenticeship, NVQ level 3, or ONC in engineering.
  • Have demonstrable maintenance experience of Processing and Packaging in food production lines within an automated FMCG environment.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC systems on integrated lines.
  • Good organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and business objectives.
  • Have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail with an analytical approach to problem-solving, but with a particular focus on health and safety.
  • Have experience in Welding and Fabrication (TIG welding would be ideal) and be IT literate.
  • You must be a team player with a positive "Can Do" attitude and happy to get involved in fault finding and fixing machinery as and when required. A self-motivated individual who can work unsupervised on breakdowns and maintenance activities.
