If youre passionate about selling, have a keen interest in digital marketing and are looking for an account manager opportunity that gets you in front of customers then please keep reading.  

As an account manager you will have access to sell marketing solutions across our portfolio of well-known and popular media brands that include The Comet, The Herts Advertiser and Welwyn Hatfield Times as well as a fantastic range of digital products and assets that include Google and Facebook products, websites, video and SEO solutions. You will also be an ambassador for our other multi-media platforms such as Hertfordshire Life magazine, Hertfordshire Business Awards, local community awards, alongside our new Enjoy Harpenden More brand. This sales opportunity is based from Stevenage but covers Hatfield, St Albans, Potters Bar, and villages/small towns in between. 

As the Media Account Manager for the area you will be in regular consultation with an array of clients, providing advertising and marketing solutions on our market-leading portfolio of products. You will, as a result of consulting with our customers and understanding their needs, offer the correct multi-platform campaigns such as awards sponsorship, targeted digital display advertising, websites, content marketing and e-marketing along with our print portfolio.  

The challenge for local media businesses to remain relevant to their core SME customers is significant. An integral part of the role is to build a strong business network of contacts by attending local events and becoming the face of local media advertising and a trusted advisor to these businesses. 

The majority of your time is spent visiting clients, presenting our portfolio of products, learning and listening and providing credible consultations with businesses throughout the area. You will be supported by a manager in our Stevenage offices with daily communication and a weekly team meeting/one-to-one. 

This challenging yet fulfilling role will really give you the chance to shine and develop existing long-term relationships to the next level. Alongside a professional sales approach, you must be able to communicate at all levels and deliver complex presentations and host question and answer sessions at board level.

  • Proven media sales experience
  • Strong B2B sales background
  • Proven track record in selling to SMEs/professional businesses
  • Excellent business acumen and ability to converse well with senior contacts
  • Ability to build networks at functions and through social media
  • Advertising/marketing/local media knowledge or background
  • Preference to win new business and create own leads
  • Working knowledge of print and digital solutions
  • Ability to work well with editors and business writers
  • Ability to create inspiring campaigns and advertising solutions

SALARY, BONUS & BENEFITS

  • Basic salary of up to £25k, alongside bonus potential of £8,400 per anum
