LOCATION: Fareham, Hampshire

JOB TITLE: Mechanical Production Manager/Coordinator

SALARY & BENEFITS: 45k-50k dependent on individual's skills and Excellent Benefits

WORKING HOURS: Full Time - Monday to Friday-40 hour week

THE COMPANY:

Pipeline Technology Ltd is a leading manufacturer and supplier of Under pressure drilling and pipeline equipment supplying the Gas & Water Industries in the UK and export to 105 countries worldwide.

THE ROLE:

The ideal candidate must have previous mechanical workshop experience and will have a versatile and adaptable skill set
The candidate will be expected to:

Assist and coordinate the production team with builds, supplier management, workshop management and stock control.
Work with the design department to solve manufacturing problems / issues
Place purchase orders with both UK and International Suppliers
Identify and improve existing business processes to drive innovation and operational efficiencies.

THE CANDIDATE:

The successful applicant should have a very good mechanical engineering background ideally working in the Gas or Water industry and possess knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing techniques including Turning, Milling, Pipe & Sheet Fabrication and welding
The applicant will also have previous experience of working for companies that manufacture, design and sell products.

Key Experience/ Characteristics:

Essential Skills

  • Experience assisting with the Management and selection of Subcontractors
  • Possess Strong mechanical engineering and knowledge of techniques stated above
  • Experience of working with Sales and Manufacturing Teams
  • Purchasing
  • Stock Management
  • IT literate with a solid understanding of MS Office Applications
  • Experience of managing in an ISO9000 accredited organisation

Desirable skills

  • General Stock control and Knowledge of Sage MMS
  • Creation & management of UK and International Call-Off Orders
  • Experience of providing support to sales department UK & Export
  • Provision of Support to Design / R&D Department
  • Ownership and Control of Procurement and Manufacturing Processes
  • Creating and maintaining build instructions for manufacturing as required
