Managing Director Sui Generis International Ltd, a market leader in fibreglass production based in Colchester, Essex, are currently recruiting for a self-driven and motivated Managing Director. We are looking for candidates with a track record of success in B2B Sales or Operations leadership, as well as commercial, financial and operational awareness. In return we are offering a salary of £70,000 to £75,000.

If you think you can increase turnover from £5m to £10m in 3 years whilst maintaining margin and retaining the companys great culture and reputation, wed love to hear from you. As Managing Director youll be able to spot new opportunities and translate these to bottom line growth of the business. The ideal Managing Director will have worked for a business generating over £7million turnover, have a commercial outlook and proven success in business development.

Responsibilities

  • Full responsibility for P+L, Sales, Operations, Production and Health and Safety.
  • Identify future business opportunities and align service models with strategic organisational objectives.
  • Drive operational improvements to ensure first class client relationships and exceptional customer service levels are always achieved.
  • Lead and develop an effective management team.
  • Report to main board.

The Person

  • Experienced, credible, and capable of influencing others at senior level.
  • Honest, reliable, resilient and adaptable with good judgement.
  • Inspiring communicator, at all levels of the business.
  • Well-presented and business-like, able to represent the company at external functions.
  • Able to operate with multi-site management and build effective relationships within the other group businesses.
  • Able to build a capable and effective management team.
  • Committed to delivering quality, customer satisfaction and upholding the values of the company.

Experience:

  • Track record of success in B2B Sales or Operations leadership is preferred but not essential.
  • The successful candidate will have experience and understanding of the bigger business picture and the courage to ask others when they dont have the answers.
  • Ideally, a mix of large and small environments.
  • Introducing innovations, implementing changes and developing the business.
  • Implementing strategy leading to bottom line growth.
  • Managing, leading and developing an effective team.
  • Build effective relationships internally and externally.
  • Making a strategic contribution at board level.

Skills:  

  • Commercial, financial and operational awareness.
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems, present and implement effective solutions.
  • Numerate, with good financial understanding and with the ability to learn, if they have skills gaps in this area.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be a strong communicator and influencer.
  • Planning, implementation and on-time delivery.
  • Computer skills; must be a competent user of MS Office 2000 or later, particularly Excel and Word.

Requirements:

  • Sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel around Essex and South East.
  • Driving licence.

On offer is a salary of £70,000 - £75,000 basic, depending on previous track record, with the opportunity to earn a bonus (dependent on business profitability), with an overall OTE package of up to £100,000. Benefits also include a car or car allowance and Private Family Healthcare.
