37 hpw, although part time hours will be considered.
Permanent.

This is an exciting and challenging time to be joining our planning team as the service is in the midst of a transformation programme, with new systems now in place and the prospect of moving to modern and conveniently located office accommodation in Ipswich during September.

As part of the transformation work, this new role has been put in place and is specifically designed to provide administrative and project management support to the service's Corporate Manager, senior officers and key development projects being handled by the team.

Working directly to the Corporate Manager in the first instance, you will be expected to successfully manage, organise and prioritise the work of the Corporate Manager and key senior officers to make the most effective use of your time. You will also need to communicate skilfully and assertively, to be seen as an 'extension' of the management team.

You will also play a key role in terms of project management. You will need to create project management plans and mechanisms to help keep key projects, to report to the Corporate Manager and management team, creating new best practice as part of your work and be effective in chasing officers and partners to deliver project work on time.

Well organised, IT proficient, customer-focussed and with a positive 'can-do' approach, you will ideally have approximately 3 - 5 years of experience in a management support role, along with experience of project management.

Experience in a customer-facing environment, delivering solutions to customer issues is also important. Knowledge of town planning and / or working in the public sector would also be helpful, but is not essential.
