Salary and Hours: £30,755 £34,106 per annum, 37 hours

Contract Type: Permanent 

Location: Long Stratton, close to Norwich, NR15 2XE

Role Snapshot

We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic finance professional to join our friendly, ambitious accountancy team to support the services that the Council delivers. 

What you could be part of

You will play a key role in helping all our services to deliver in a more commercial and enterprising way by offering challenge and a "critical friend" approach. You will provide a management accounting service to budget managers within the council and contribute to the preparation of the Council's overall budget and financial accounts.

What youll be doing

  • Providing a commercially focussed management accounting function to services which contributes to the final accounts process.
  • Calculating services' budget requirements and assisting them in finding efficiencies and generating additional income, through becoming more commercial.
  • Ensuring sound budgetary management through challenge and quality variance analysis to aid strategic decision making.
  • Supporting the services with project work and business cases as required, identifying areas for growth or cessation to maximise the use of resources in non-statutory functions. 

You must be

A good communicator and your excellent team working skills will enable you to work effectively with Directors and managers. We want someone who is a problem solver with a can-do attitude. Organisational skills and attention to detail are essential to this role. If you have the right experience and expertise to play an important role in ensuring our financial sustainability, we would love to hear from you.
