Lecturer in Engineering
36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
£28,973 - £34,606 per annum

Various staff benefits available including 42 days holiday plus bank holidays per year, a health/company paid scheme and membership to the Teachers Pension Scheme.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the City College Norwich Apprenticeships Team. We have a substantive vacancy for a full-time post in our Engineering Team. We are looking for someone who has up to date skills in machining, CNC and CAD CAM. There is a robust new suite of apprenticeship qualifications that need delivering to meet the demands of industry and to secure the future generation of engineers and this role will be a key part of how we do that.

You will be delivering practical and theory sessions to groups of engineering apprentices which is why you will need such a strong skillset and good interpersonal skills too. You will need to be a confident user of IT. We have high standards for our students in the tracking and recording of work and assessments, so you will need to be well organised and efficient. If you have been working in an environment where you are used to giving feedback constructively and setting challenging but realistic targets, that would be beneficial when applying for this job.

Ideally, you will have teaching qualifications and at least a level 3 qualification in your engineering area. However, we would love to hear from you if you have the appropriate industry skills and experience (five years minimum), great communication skills (written and verbal) and the patience to help others learn. We would support you to train as a teacher if you have no teaching qualifications but the right soft skills and technical engineering background.

We would also be equally happy to hear from those of you who are existing lecturers and looking for a change of workplace or environment! City College Norwich is a great place to work and we've had really positive feedback about how supportive the Apprenticeship Engineering Team is.

We genuinely aim to make a difference to people's life chances by delivering apprenticeships. So, if you think you fit the above criteria, are dynamic and creative and want to make a difference too, get in touch
