Learning support assistant - Thetford

Term time plus 1 week

We have an exciting opportunity for a learning support assistant to join our committed and hardworking team at Thetford Academy.

The role involves working in one-to-one situations and leading small groups as well as supporting the teacher in whole class lessons. You should be able to work effectively as part of a team, following the direction of the teachers as well as working under your own initiative when necessary.

You will be an inspirational practitioner who is passionate about raising achievement through motivating and inspiring students, who will also contribute to the vision and values of the school. Youll have a minimum of GCSE grade C for English and maths or equivalent. Experience of working with students with special educational needs would be of benefit, although training will be provided as necessary.

We are part of the Inspiration Trust, twice ranked as the countrys top family of comprehensive schools for pupil progress to GCSE, and work closely with our fellow schools across the region. We are committed to offering excellent professional and learning opportunities for our staff. Our 2018 Ofsted inspection confirmed the academy to be Good.

Our location close to the A11 makes us easy to reach from Norfolk, Suffolk, and Cambridgeshire. The rich pine forests and heathland of the Brecks are close by to help you relax in your time off, with good connections both to London and to Norfolks fabulous beaches and Broads.
