THE ALBANY STUDENT REFERRAL UNIT,
BURY ST EDMUNDS
£40,958 - £43,023
Are you an agent of change?
Do you have a growth mindset; believing anything is possible if you put your mind to it?
Do you want to help young people with social and emotional difficulties re-engage with learning to enhance their life choices?
Can you help them to believe in themselves, engage with their learning, and achieve highly?
If the answer is yes, we want you to work with us to help transform the lives of our young people and their families.
You will work alongside Senior Leadership Team colleagues in The Albany and the host school to establish and lead the Year 7 / 8 Learning Centre. You will lead a team of 3 LSAs in designing and delivering the curriculum and will work in partnership with our Engagement Leader to co-create success criteria and reintegration plans for all Albany students returning to mainstream education.
You will need to be autonomous; able to take the lead role running a centre away from The Albany campus. The role would suit an aspiring middle or senior leader wishing to develop teaching and leadership skills through a new challenge.
The Albany is growing; adding 20 KS3 places, to our current KS4 provision and in addition to our on-site growth we are developing a Learning Centre. This will be based within its own wing of a mainstream school site with access to specialist facilities. The centre will be for up to eight Year 7 and 8 students who need intensive intervention for up to two terms to help them successfully reintegrate back to their mainstream school.
Potential applicants are encouraged to visit or contact the school to discuss the post further. Please note that the school will be closed until 18 April.
