Lead Project Controller

Would you like to Engage across a variety of different projects in the Air sector, interaction with senior stakeholders in the DI business to drive costing and resource decisions with a real impact on the way the business evolves. We currently have a vacancy for a Lead Project Controller at our site in Yeovil.

As a Lead Project Controller, you will be will set up and operate Project Control systems on a medium/large project or portfolio of projects. You will also be responsible for some aspects of Project Control (for example scheduling or risk) on larger and more complex project. The role reports to the Project Control Manager DI.

This role will provide you with you enabling our business to deliver a wide portfolio of

Projects ranging from secure 4G communications networks to augmented virtual reality trainers for nuclear submarines.

Your main responsibilities as a Lead Project Controller will involve:

Broad knowledge and understanding of the Line of Business or project.

PM&C experience demonstrated in a professional role within a significant business or project.

Extensive, expert level understanding of a range of PM&C tools techniques and practices.

Good knowledge of the PM&C capability landscape including with Professional institutions.

Good understanding of the Business environment for Line of Business or project.

Good knowledge and experience of PM&C governance and assurance processes such as Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) and as Assessor of PM&C aspects at LCM Reviews.

Experience of influencing stakeholders both inside and outside the company.

Ability to influence internal stakeholders to achieve business success.

Ability to capture, evaluate and share best practice.

Your skills and qualifications:

A knowledge of and experience in the application of planning, monitoring and control activities (including WBS and scope management, scheduling, resource management, budget and cost management, risk management, change management, earned value.

Able to and use standard tools (e.g. MSP) and pick up and use autonomously internal Excel-based Project Control tools and spreadsheets.

Knowledge of and experience in delivery of risk management and scheduling would be an advantage

Qualification in related fields

Diplomacy skills required in order to work across business boundaries to achieve optimum solutions.

Will need to participate in negotiations and influence operational managers primarily internally at all levels.

Needs to influence and motivate local team.

Communication exchange can be complex and could involve sensitive information. For example: Communication with engineering staff about potential schedule impacts of technical risks.

Location: Yeovil

Salary: £41,250
