Senior Independent Living Support Worker 52540 CHAE
Poppy House, Kings Lynn
£29,636 - £31,371 per annum
37 hours per week
Permanent contract

We have a fantastic opportunity to be part of the next phase of the Semi-Independent provisions in Norfolk. Poppy House (Kings Lynn) will provide accommodation for Looked After Children or young people leaving care that are between the ages 16-18. We will help them develop their independent living skills and wellbeing, enabling them to be ready to progress full onto independence post-18.

As the Senior Support Worker, you will manage the day-to-day running of the homes, and you will ensure the young people in the home receive a service that promotes their wellbeing and independent living skills.

You will be joining a highly motivated and enthusiastic team who endeavour to make significant changes in young peoples lives. You will be part of the management team and be required to take part in the out of hours on call system for which an allowance is paid.

Ideally you will have a background in semi-independent accommodation or be experienced in working with young people. You will be required to have a professional qualification relevant to working with children, young people and families or equivalent experience and you will be expected to supervise staff.

To work within this environment, you will need to be committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. You will need to be reliable, have good personal relationship and communication skills as well as high professional standards. You will also need to be able to make sound judgements under pressure and respond effectively in a crisis.
