Job Description

Access Community Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader at our residential accommodation based in Thetford. The successful candidate will be responsible in leading, supporting and developing a team of Housing Support Workers delivering housing-related support. The ideal Team Leader will be experienced, enthusiastic and a passionate person.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • To ensure a high level of customer participation in all appropriate areas of the service.
  • To ensure all housing management functions related to the project are carried out efficiently.
  • To maintain high standards in relation to Safeguarding and establish positive and trusting professional relationships with customers, respecting at all times their dignities and rights.
  • To ensure all Needs and Risk Assessments are subject to regular review and each Support Plan is up to date, taking into account SMART objectives and evidencing the steps taken to achieve high quality outcomes.
  • To lead on conducting initial assessments to determine allocation of accommodation at the projects and updating the HRS Access System via the Suffolk County Council website.
  • To monitor all rent accounts at the project and support Housing Support Workers in using a range of methods to reduce arrears and collect rent and service charge income on time.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Previous experience of working within a supported accommodation environment and supporting vulnerable people / families with issues relating to financial hardship, homelessness, mental health and substance misuse.
  • A thorough knowledge of housing related support and leadership skills are more important than formal qualifications.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • An empathetic and sensitive approach to people
  • Reliable / Flexible
  • Be a positive role model

You will work and learn alongside some talented individuals, where you can benefit from exciting paid-for opportunities, such as supported training and personal development.
