Salary and Hours: £22,124 - £25,988 per annum (£26,493-£31,119 pro rata) 30.9 hours per week

Contract Type: 2 year fixed term contract

Location: Thorpe Lodge, Thorpe St Andrew, Norwich with travel to South Norfolk House, Long Stratton as required

An exciting opportunity has arisen at South Norfolk and Broadland Council to be a part of our excellent Housing and Benefits service who work within the Early Help team and have a great track record of helping customers and partners to prevent homelessness.

What youll be doing

  • Providing a comprehensive housing options service to customers
  • Delivering exceptional prevention solutions through Early Help
  • Relieving homelessness within the framework of the Homelessness Reduction Act
  • Managing applications to our housing register and undertaking statutory homeless investigations
  • Prioritising and managing a complex caseload, whilst managing day to day demands in a busy and pressurised environment.
  • Working as part of a holistic housing and benefit team to deliver successful customer outcomes

You must have

  • 3 A levels or equivalent, or able to demonstrate ability at this level
  • A full driving licence
  • Be a highly organised and resourceful individual, with experience of working in a housing or other customer outcome focused environment.
  • A thorough understanding of the legal and regulatory framework underpinning housing
