Fixed term to 31st December 2018
£25,298 to £26,052 per annum
As part of the National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP) and The Network for East Anglian Collaborative Outreach (NEACO), the University is seeking to appoint two Higher Education Champions specialising in art, design and media (ADM) who are passionate about widening participation and have the skills and/or experience to make a difference to the lives of young people.
NEACO is a partnership of five universities committed to widening participation and raising aspiration into Higher Education (HE) across East Anglia. Partners are Cambridge University (Lead), University of Suffolk, University of East Anglia, Anglia Ruskin University and Norwich University of the Arts.
The ADM HE Champions will work in a variety of partner secondary schools, sixth forms or FE colleges across the region. The postholders will work with staff and students to support identified pupils in Years 9-13 to progress to and thrive in Higher Education. This will involve delivering masterclasses, mentoring and coordinating activity with internal and external partners to raise aspirations, awareness and attainment to support progression to HE.
You will be educated to degree or equivalent level qualification in an art, design or media subject and have experience of developing and delivering art, design and/or media activities for young people. Experience of making presentations, preferably to school aged audiences, is essential.
The successful applicant will have excellent organisation skills with the flexibility and adaptability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
A full clean valid UK Driving Licence is essential due to the requirement to travel across the region and in some cases to rural locations where public transport may not available.
Closing date: 9.00 am on Monday 27th February 2017
Interviews will be held on Monday 13th March 2017
