Health and Safety Manager (H&S)

Sheffield (S9) commutable from Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley and Chesterfield

Up to £45,000 PA Dependant On Skills & Experience

Our client is a world leader in supplying total engineering packages to solve the industry's needs. As the world's largest independently owned forgemaster, they specialises in a broad range of bespoke heavy steel forgings and steel castings as well as stocking steel ingot and bar.

Our client understands the paramount importance of health and safety within a working environment! Here is where you come in. They currently have an exciting opportunity for a tenacious Health and Safety Manager to join their current team in Sheffield.

Supporting their culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence you will ensure legal compliance for health and safety in the workplace is implemented, maintained and monitored as well as the delivery of the company's Health and Safety strategies and initiatives for site.

Ensuring health and safety is at the optimal level you will develop a positive safety culture by cascading your knowledge to the operations team, employees, visitors and contractors. You will do this by coaching, training and engagements activities during regular health and safety meetings organised by yourself.

Other responsibilities include conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations ensuring these are done with a timely and thorough approach. You will also work collaboratively with the H&S team to deliver management and employee training.

They are seeking a proactive and assertive H&S professional who has previous experience in heavy industry. You must obtain a NEBOSH qualification as a minimum and ideally have a Behaviour Safety and/or Root Cause analysis training or qualification. Previous experience of coaching, motivating and engaging employees with H&S as well as implementation initiatives is essential.
