Green Infrastructure Officer (Access)  

£26,470 - £28,221 per annum  

County Hall, Norwich 

37 hours per week 

Fixed term contract until 31 March 2020 

We are looking for a highly-motivated person to join our Green Infrastructure Projects Team, to provide information and advice to planning authorities about public access as well as working on projects designing and developing walking and cycling routes. The job involves working with other teams to provide advice to District Councils on planning applications as they come in, as well as working with District Councils to develop plans and projects for improving access, walking and cycling routes particularly as they need increases with the growth agenda and housing development. 

You will have a degree in countryside management or a related environmental discipline and will have previous experience of giving advice to landowners and planners about public access or working within the planning system to develop green infrastructure projects. A good understanding about the public rights of way regulations and the planning system is needed although some support developing expertise in this area can be provided. Experience working with highways teams and other partners to develop walking and cycling routes using planning gain such as S106 or Community Infrastructure Levy would be an advantage. An ability to work with maps is required, as well as good project management skills, IT and time management. 

The Green Infrastructure Projects Team sits within the Environment Service with other teams such as Norfolk Trails, Walking and Cycling, Green Infrastructure Strategy and Advice, Historic Environment Planning, Arboriculture and Landscape. We have a range of services providing advice on environmental management as well as some interesting projects such as SAIL Staying Active and Independent Longer a European Interreg project encouraging older people to go out and walk more often.
