Graphic Design / Marketing Assistant Skinners Pet Foods are looking to recruit a Graphic Design / Marketing Assistant to join our family-run business based in Stradbroke. Eye, Suffolk. We manufacture premium quality dog foods and are searching for an experienced customer focused Graphic Design / Marketing Assistant to provide internal and external marketing support to our growing company.

As the successful Graphic Design / Marketing Assistant, you will possess a good working knowledge of ADOBE design suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop), Microsoft packages (Word, Outlook and Excel), together with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce artwork for magazines, programmes, newsletters, leaflets, posters and flyers ensuring that content is accurate, commercial messages are strong and the required audience is top of mind
  • Updating and designing new point of sale materials for use at shows, events, and retail outlets such as banners, posters, flyers, feather flags etc
  • Assisting with new packaging design and new product development
  • Oversee and update brand guidelines and ensure that all artwork follows a consistent format and style throughout
  • Make suggestions on how to enhance our brand, website and online presence overall
  • Regularly audit and ensure that product information is up to date on our website and partner websites, checking that all packaging and images are reflected accurately
  • Update Dog Tales on the website ensuring that all images are of a good quality and that the content sells the product, rewriting / enhancing where possible
  • Design web banners to support paid advertising, ensuring that artwork is produced to the correct size and format and in line with the monthly promotional plan
  • To update and send monthly promotional email newsletters for the Area Sales Managers using the internal email builder
  • Maintain a bank of images that are royalty free and under the correct license for us to use in our advertising
  • Ensure that artwork is produced in a timely manner, correspondence is clear and a professional service is followed through in all activity, communicating with printers where necessary
  • Oversee the customer marketing database and ensure that information is accurate and up to date before sending monthly promotions by post and email
  • Provide cover for the Marketing & Events coordinator when on holiday

Skills and attributes required:

  • This role will not require Sales Training, but any training needed in relation to the role will be given.
  • Graphic Design qualification is desirable, however will consider a trainee with experience
  • Technical background or technically minded with an eye for design
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to work in a diligent and organised manner
  • Able to produce literature that is technically accurate and sells the product(s)
  • Creative, conscientious, proactive and patient individual that is enthusiastic as well as adaptable
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Prepared to get stuck in with any task not necessarily marketing
  • A passion for the countryside, dogs / dog nutrition, hunting, shooting and outdoor activities
  • Ability to work on their own or within a small team
  • Capability to communicate with all levels of staff, directors, customers and suppliers

This role is permanent, full-time with working hours Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. On offer to the ideal candidate is a salary of £18,000 to £24,000 per annum depending on experience, contributory pension scheme, sales training and 25 days holiday a year, plus Bank Holidays etc.  - It is currently compulsory that 3 days of annual leave are to be used over the Christmas Period.
