Facilities & Health & Safety Officer Requirements:

  • Project Management experience
  • Building maintenance experience
  • Knowledge and experience of building renovation/conversion projects
  • Experience of building re-fits
  • Budget management experience
  • Experience of generating project cost quotations
  • Experience of managing the maintenance of a manufacturing business
  • Current HSE Legislation knowledge
  • ISO knowledge and experience
  • Managing ISO9001, ISO14001
  • Technically orientated and able to deal with engineering terms related to building projects
  • HNC or Degree qualification is preferable but not essential
  • ISO Auditing experience
  • Can-do positive attitude
  • IT Literate
  • Excellent planning skills
  • Able to cope under pressure
  • Good man management skills of staff & contractors
  • Good spoken and written communication skills

Facilities & Health & Safety Officer Responsibilities:

  • To organise and control all necessary building/premises maintenance work on the site
  • To ensure that the fabric of the site is maintained and advise senior management of any necessary building work required
  • Oversea and control and building and factory re-fits and refurbishments
  • Project manage all building and factory infrastructure issues and projects
  • Overseeing all building projects from small to large scale
  • To be responsible for Health, Safety and Facilities at engineering manufacturing site
  • Managing ISO9001, ISO14001
  • To monitor and revise as required the company Health and Safety policy
  • To ensure the security of the company site and liaise with security firms and ensuring key holders are available
  • To produce and action the necessary Risk Assessments for all areas of the site
  • To implement and control all Health and Safety procedures, to include: PUWER, COSHH, LOLER, Fire, Manual Handling, Noise, Waste Control and PPE
  • To organise and control all necessary Health and Safety external and internal maintenance and repair programmes
  • To ensure required Health Monitoring, First Aid and Accident review procedures and practices are in place
  • To organise and deliver Health and Safety training and advise all staff as required
