Executive Assistant to Director of Operations (Maternity Cover)

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and motivated Executive Assistant to join the Earlham Institute, based in Norwich, UK.

About Earlham Institute:

Earlham Institute is a vibrant, contemporary research institute and registered charity, working in an area of rapid technological development and innovation. Earlham Institute is strategically funded by the BBSRC to lead the development of a skill base in bioinformatics and a genomics technology platform for UK bioscience.

The role:

This exciting opportunity offers the successful candidate a diverse role within a dynamic scientific research institute. Workload will be varied and will include the following:

-Managing the diary and email inbox of the Director of Operations.
-Coordinating board meetings, preparing papers and taking minutes.
-Assisting with projects which the Director of Operations is leading.
-Liaising with the senior management team, scientists and administrative staff.

The ideal candidate:

Candidates with substantial experience will be considered for a more senior appointment (SC6 level). Candidates at an earlier stage in their career will be considered for an SC7 level post.

All candidates should possess GCSEs grades A*-C, including Maths and English, or equivalent. Previous experience of working as an Executive Assistant is essential, as are excellent computer skills and attention to detail.

To be considered for the more senior post (SC6), candidates should be educated to degree level. They should also possess experience working with databases and content management systems, as well as experience of undertaking budgetary control. Previous experience of working with a board is also required for the senior post.

Additional information:

Appointments made at SC7 level will attract an annual salary of £24,815 - £30,270. Appointments made at SC6 level will attract an annual salary of £31,625 - £38,575. Salaries are dependent on qualifications and experience.

This is a maternity cover contract expected to last 14 months but may be shorter or longer depending when the absent employee returns to work. The working hours are full time.

Interviews will be held on 25th July 2019.
