Vacancy

Stalham Academy
Deputy Head
Leadership 4 to Leadership 8

The Trustees and Governors of Stalham Academy are looking to appoint a new Deputy Headteacher. This Academy was rated as Good by Ofsted in November 2017 and has achieved 91% combined at KS2 in 2017 and was rated as one of the highest achieving Primary Schools of that Academic Year.

This exceptional opportunity has arisen due to the promotion of the current Deputy Head within the Trust.  The Academy is embarking on an exciting growth phase in its development and the successful candidate will play an instrumental part in this.   As part of this growth, there will be an opportunity for the right candidate to look at the possibility of becoming Head of School in the future.

The Trustees and Governors would expect the successful candidate to already be at Senior Leader level in a school or to hold the NPQSL, however this is not essential.  A strength in KS2 is important as they will be required to teach a small proportion of their time within this Key Stage.  We are also looking for someone with experience of KS1/EYFS. A passion for teaching and learning is essential. The working week for the successful candidate will be made up of time in class and time to work with the Headteacher and SLT on the aims set out in the Academys Improvement Plan.

The Academy is part of the Norwich Teaching School Alliance and therefore there will be many opportunities for further professional development.

Candidates should be outstanding practitioners with excellent interpersonal skills, who are enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated professionals.

We offer:
- A passionate, driven and successful school where you will feel well supported in your role
- A robust induction process
- A school that is committed to ensuring that every child succeeds
- Individualised professional development and career enhancement opportunities
- The support of an experienced Senior Leadership Team and supportive Trust network

Closing Date:  Friday 23rd March 2018 at 10am

Interview Date: Tuesday 27th & Wednesday 28th March 2018

This academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The applicant must be prepared to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and Prohibition Order Checks in relation to Qualified Teachers. We are an equal opportunities employer.
Successful applicants will also be subject to an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service. This post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations, therefore will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether disqualified under these regulations
