Credit Controller- P&O Ferrymasters are currently recruiting for a Credit Controller to be based at the head office on the Ipswich outskirts.

If you are an enthusiastic and motivated Credit Controller professional or have a great head for numbers, this is the job for you. A part time role of 14 hours per week (Thursday and Friday), youll be joining a highly dedicated and professional team of Sales Ledger experts who are responsible for delivering the highest quality of service to an internationally dedicated client base.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain designated customers sales ledgers to meet the targets set for debtor days each month to ensure accurate weekly cash flow reporting
  • Deal with customer account queries promptly, contacting the customer directly and liaising with colleagues at the P&O business units to resolve
  • Monitor customer credit limits regularly by using the credit checking agency
  • Ensure that all cash is allocated in a timely manner contacting customers regarding missing remittance advices and queries
  • Notify the Claims department of any deducted monies regarding claim issues
  • Negotiate and agree contras with the customer and purchase ledger
  • Ensure all POD and copy invoice requests are dealt with promptly and efficiently
  • Input invoices into customers own systems accurately

Skills and attributes required:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, including ability to prioritise your workload
  • Previous experience of working in a Credit Control environment, preferably within the Transport industry
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as being a strong team player
  • Numerically accurate and able to reconcile

A competitive salary is on offer to the candidate (depending on experience).   This is a permanent position and working hours are 14 hours per week Thursday and Friday.
