Job Title: Contracts Assistant

Contracts Assistant- Spider are pleased to be working with a Finance Company based in Ely in Cambridgeshire who are currently looking for a Contracts Assistant who has excellent administrative and IT skills to join their team. This Contracts Assistant role is a full-time permanent role with a salary on offer of £25,000 - £35,000 depending on experience.

As a Contracts Assistant, the aim of the role is to work with and support the Contracts Manager to provide an effective and efficient legal process to the business and its customers. To provide reports that will be used by senior managers, highlighting the companys exposure.

Responsibilities include:

  • Incorporating proposals into contractual documentation from credit approval through to project management.
  • Review contracts to identify contractual and commercial risks.
  • Working with the Contracts Manager to advise and support colleagues on the contractual aspects of new proposals and projects.
  • Ensure costs are managed and reported to agreed budgets.
  • Liaising with colleagues on commercial and legal risk to manage contracts.
  • To record and report progress on security during the legal process.
  • Review current security position on existing Projects.
  • Co-ordinate the release of security.
  • Review a security register, checking and reviewing the companys exposure and charges.
  • Assist with the mitigation of the companys legal exposure to risk on projects
  • To build rapport with legal services suppliers.
  • Liaise with Project Managers and Customer Relationship Managers on any future legal issues that may arise.
  • Assist with the development of procedures and processes.
  • Manage a robust process to include check sheets and document procedures.
  • To follow all company procedures and policies to maintain efficiency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • To look for and suggest improvements that could be made to enhance the procedures already in place.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Excellent administrative and IT skills including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills to manage and maintain documentation and to co-ordinate efforts inside and outside of team.
  • Basic understanding of contract law and commercial risk.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills to provide relevant management information.
  • Good customer focus to both understand internal customer needs and expectations and deliver their requirements.
  • Able to manage workloads and priorities and work under pressure to tight deadlines.
