Construction Project Coordinator

Location:  Ipswich/ Bury St Edmunds

Salary:  £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience

Construction Project Coordinator Quality Equipment are a family run agricultural engineering business which has been running for over 50 years.  We have provided a comprehensive range of new and innovative products and buildings specifically designed to meet the on-going needs of modern pig farmers.  We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Project Coordinator to join our expanding business based in Woolpit, Suffolk.

As a Construction Project Coordinator you will be assisting the Construction Manager in planning, estimating, purchasing, costing, scheduling and administrative elements of construction projects.  You will also maintain regular contact with site operatives and customers to problem solve issues as they arise.

Duties of the Construction Project Coordinator will include:

  • Review projects and plan drawings in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
  • Identify materials, equipment and consumables required to complete jobs and ensure they are delivered to site on time whilst ensuring best value and good relationships with key suppliers.
  • Maintain an inventory of plant, machinery and tools and their location and tools are regularly services and certificated.
  • Make arrangements for operatives accommodation whilst engaged on site.
  • Maintain schedules of costs incurred on all projects and provide detailed analysis and reports as required.
  • Prepare risk assessments and workplace method statements for each construction project.
  • Develop and maintain files incorporating Health & Safety, Operations & Maintenance and user instructions (Building Manual) for each customer.
  • Attend and contribute to Health and Safety and FOCUS meetings as required.
  • Perform regular analysis of records and reports to determine areas for improvement.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Knowledge of the building or construction industries.
  • Experience of reviewing projects and plan drawings to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
  • Ability to produce schedules of costs incurred on projects and providing analysis and reports.
  • Maintains a good understanding of Health & Safety within the construction industry and associated record keeping.
  • Good numeracy and computer skills
  • Good communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and work well under pressure and meet deadlines
