Community Fundraising Officer
£21,842 per annum
37.5 hrs per week (Monday-Friday with occasional evening or weekend work)
Beat is looking for an energetic and creative Community Fundraising Officer to join our growing and highly ambitious fundraising team. The post-holder will be responsible for increasing participation in our promoted fundraising events (such as sponsored runs, treks and skydiving) plus supporting our growing army of volunteer fundraisers with their own activities. They will help co-ordinate our annual fundraising event Sock It to Eating Disorders which takes place during Eating Disorders Awareness Week. A high degree of freedom is given to create profitable events and you will be at the forefront, building donor loyalty and maximising enjoyment.
The role is based in comfortable offices Norwich, with regular UK travel to other Beat offices and to support participants at events such as the London Marathon.
Beat is the UKs eating disorder charity, existing to provide hope and improve life for anyone affected by an eating disorder. These are serious mental illness that particular affect young people in the prime of their lives. Anorexia has the highest mortality rate of any mental illness.
Our vision is a society where fewer people suffer eating disorders, where people with eating disorders experience care and understanding, and where they can quickly access treatment that supports a rapid and sustained recovery.
By 2021, we will have made dramatic progress towards that vision. We want Beat to be the undisputed Go-To organisation on eating disorders as a result of our high quality services that provide information, empathy and empowerment to tens if not hundreds of thousands of the people affected by eating disorders, and our successful campaigns to tackle the challenges and obstacles they face.
