Permanent contract. 

Were looking for a Communications Assistant to join an award-winning communications team, working at the heart of Norfolk County Council. 

This is an exciting opportunity to kick-start your career in a fast-paced environment. You will work on a range of varied tasks including: helping to deliver PR and marketing campaigns; engagement and consultation projects; maintaining and improving Norfolk County Councils social media platforms and working with external suppliers and supporting the team at events.  

Were looking for someone creative, enthusiastic and self-motivated, with a real passion for communications. 

Specific tasks will include: 

  • Providing effective support for the marketing, media and consultation team, updating materials and helping officers to run projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Reviewing and updating website/social media platforms.
  • Researching and drafting press information and short surveys and overseeing the admin for our survey system.
  • Learning to develop campaign, marketing and consultation briefs and working with our creative agencies and external suppliers.
  • Support at events (workshops, focus groups, exhibitions, consultation drop-in sessions).
  • Assistance with survey production/analysis of evaluation data.

Norfolk County Council delivers services to the countys 885,000 residents. It is the authority responsible for everything from highways to schools, trading standards to adult social care, economic development to libraries and museums. Norfolk County Council works in close partnership with district and parish councils and also with other agencies across the county including business groups and the emergency services.
