Our client, a leading sports organisation, are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Commis Chef, to work in the Catering department.

As the Commis Chef, you will be reporting to the Pastry Sous Chef & Pastry Head Chef. You will assist in producing food items for all restaurant areas, adhering to the recipes and the brand.

  • Do you strive for excellence within your work and demonstrate excellent attention to detail?
  • Can you prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines, whilst working in an organised and timely manner?
  • Are you an excellent communicator, who is able to work well under pressure, is flexible and is able to adapt to last minute changes?

If so, this could be the role for you!

This is a full time, permanent role. Hours of work will be 40 a week, any 5 days out of 7 as agreed. The position will involve working at weekends, evenings, and some bank holidays.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • To assist with the preparation and serving of pastry items for all restaurant areas, working to recipes pre-set by the sous & head chef.
  • Work as a key member of the team, in a designated kitchen, taking responsibility for an element of service.
  • Ensure that all recipes, as set by a supervisory member of staff, are followed accurately, to maintain high levels of quality.
  • Work within a pre-determined format, to keep waste to a minimum as far as possible.
  • Assist with maintaining and recording all aspects of Food Hygiene to meet Health and Safety Legislation / Requirements and the Food Management System.

As the Commis Chef, you will demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic attitude at all times, and be prepared to go the extra mile. You will ideally have a Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate or equivalent.

You will be eager to learn and willing to take on more duties in the role.
