Located in Norwich, we are currently working alongside an established and growing Manufacturing firm, who due to sustained growth are now looking to increase the size of their existing team with the appointment of a Commercial Graduate.
The role will primarily be focused on the commercial side of the business, predominately operating within the engineering and technical sectors, a strong level of logical thinking and technical understanding will be required. Ideally you will hold a degree in Engineering or Science, but the right candidate could have a Business or Economics based degree.
The role will encompass working day to day in the sales team, translating customer requirements into proposals through to order. Ensuring each and every enquiry is maximised and converted to a sale where possible. Market research into existing customers to exploit their potential, whilst identifying other potential new clients and approaching them.
Longer term the role will progress to offer face to face business development opportunities including visiting existing and prospective customers. The role will take an active lead in pursuing and developing the eCommerce side of the business, where there are currently no active sales, along with the implementation of a single business wide IT system.
Being a small company, the role will be exposed to and involved in all elements of the business, not just their own department, giving the potential opportunity for rapid personal growth. The business will invest heavily in the right candidate in the appropriate levels of training and development, with the goal of taking on day to day responsibility in management of the commercial team. It is a real opportunity for someone to stamp their mark on a role and in a business.
It is important the candidate be resilient, have a hunger to learn and develop whilst maintaining a strong measured driven ethos for success. Interest in using a data driven approach to evaluate and analyse information to identify improvements is essential.
Beyond the aforementioned, good communication skills, computer literacy and analytical skills are critically important within this role. The role will require the ability to liaise with varying organisations with varying levels of management, so the ability to converse accordingly would be helpful if not vital.
