Childcare Officer

Scale F 22 25 (£21,074 - £23,111 per annum) pro-rata
Actual Salary £17,070 - £18,720 per annum plus sleep-in allowance

Come and join our growing team and be part of the successful Rightforsuccess Trust.  Eaton Hall Specialist Academy has an Ofsted rating of outstanding and as the lead school in the Norwich Teaching School Alliance it is a National Support School.

Childcare Officer

The Governors are looking to recruit a Childcare Officer to start as soon as possible. The childcare officer position requires staff to work three days per week (35 hours) and in addition one sleep-in duty from 11pm to 7am per week (7hrs).  In total the period worked each week is 42 hours.

The Childcare Officer role itself involves staff supporting pupils in class in the same way that a teaching assistant works to support pupil progress and includes working in a residential capacity.  This is a great opportunity to learn about education in its holistic sense and gain a vast amount of knowledge prior to embarking on a career of teaching.

The added dimension in these posts is being an advocate for a small group of children supporting both their home and their development in school. Therefore the remuneration for this is at Scale F which is a grade equal to HLTAs in this school, although this title itself does not do justice to the experience staff receive.

The position is permanent and required for term time only plus 5 training days. The weeks worked are 39 weeks; therefore payment is pro rata over 12 equal monthly payments per year.

The Academy is a residential special school for boys in the age range 5 16 with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The Academy runs a very strong staff support and development programme.  Good oral and written communication skills are essential.  You should also be reliable, persistent and loyal, with a good sense of humour and strength of character.  The academy is looking for people with interests outside the curriculum that would lend themselves to leading activities with children.

Further information about the Academy can be found on our website: www.eatonhallacademy.co.uk  or by contacting Mr K Bates Headteacher on 01603 457480.

A visit to the Academy (by appointment) is encouraged please call the Academy to arrange.

For an application pack for these positions please contact the Recruitment Team on 01603 937130 or recruitment@rightforsuccess.co.uk.

Closing date: 9am Friday 18th January 2019
Interview dates: Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd January 2019
(Candidates will be expected to attend both days).

This academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The applicant must be prepared to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and Prohibition Order Checks in relation to Qualified Teachers.

Successful applicants will also be subject to an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service. This post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations, therefore will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether disqualified under these regulations. Right to Work in the UK will need to be established. We are an equal opportunities employer.
