Are you a senior reporter looking to take the first step in management while continuing to report on key issues within a community? We are looking for an experienced and ambitious journalist to take the lead for two of our successful newspaper titles, the Saffron Walden Reporter and Dunmow Broadcast.

The ideal candidate will understand the challenges of producing insightful and in-depth journalism across whatever platform our audience chooses to engage, can inspire and educate young reporters, and is prepared to represent the brand as an ambassador in the community.

We are looking for someone who is self-sufficient and will enjoy working with a high degree of independence and is keen to begin the next step of their career overseeing the operations of these two titles with office management duties that include looking after a small team of reporters.  You will help to shape the brands content across all platforms and welcome our policy of putting our audience first in everything we do.

We are looking for outstanding candidates who are comfortable reporting on all aspects of community life, boast a fantastic grasp of digital publishing, and have a wealth of strong ideas and a portfolio bulging with first-rate stories.

IT IS ESSENTIAL YOU HAVE:

-Senior NQJ qualification
-Proven history of creating engaging content
-Confident digital and social media skills
-Extensive newsroom experience
-Full valid driving licence
-Ability to create/use video to bring stories to life
-Ability to dig out and create new ideas and stories

SALARY AND BENEFITS

-Salary £24k
-Full 25 days paid holiday + statutory bank holidays
