Charity Development & Project Manager
Hours: Full Time 37.5
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Based in Norwich, with regular county-wide travel.
Salary: £37,570 to £43,772 pa plus NHS pension and other NHS employee benefits

About The Organisation:

Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust Charitable Fund, charity number 1051173, operates across Norfolk to provide benefits to patients, their families and carers, that enhance their care above and beyond that provided by the Trust and the NHS in general. Working within the community, we are involved in activities that benefit children and young people, adults, and particularly older people with multiple and complex health and care needs.

About the Role:

Due to the retirement of the existing Fundraising Manager, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced charity fundraiser and project planner to take Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trusts Charitable Fund to its next level of success.

Rated by the CQC as Outstanding, NCH&C provides community health services throughout Norfolk and surrounding areas through teams of community staff operating in patients homes or clinics, and a number of small inpatient hospitals. The Charitys Development & Project Manager will succeed the existing postholder, who is retiring. You will play the leading role in ensuring that the charity can further enhance services to patients, their families and carers, in ways that both support the Trusts work but also builds alliances with other service providers from the voluntary and public sectors to meet the needs of people with long-term physical and mental conditions.

The charitys success to date has been based on working closely and proactively with donors, Trust staff, and other supporters. Having grown income mainly from patient/family donations and legacies, the foundation has now been laid to engage with staff, stakeholders, and the wider community to develop programmes of work that attract donations from major donors and trusts. Legacies can also be used to support strategic developments that provide support for patients but also demonstrate different ways of working within a changing NHS locally and regionally in response to an ageing population, cared for at home, and with complex needs over a long period of time.

We are looking for someone who is able to work under their own direction within a strategic and operational framework that they will develop by engaging with senior staff from the Trust, the Charitable Funds Committee, and stakeholders within the community.

NHS charity experience is not required, but what is, is the ability and drive to increase fundraising income by motivating and building enaged teams of people, and presenting compelling funding propositions to the widest range of potential supporters. You will be responsible for overseeing the proper governance of the charity and be aware of the particular challenges faced by NHS charities with a corporate trustee. You will need to do this under your own initiative, with financial and administrative support from one other member of staff.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build on your experience and proven track record within the voluntary or not for profit sector, and make your mark in delivering an outstanding charity in the service of patients, families and carers.
