Business Support Assistant and Receptionist

Applications are invited for a Business Support Assistant and Receptionist to join the Earlham Institute (EI) to provide operational support for the Institute.

The role:
The Business Support Assistant and Receptionist will be a member of the Business Support Group within the Operations Division. The Business Support Group supports staff, students and visitors with administration.
The post holder will report to the Senior Business Support Assistant and interact with staff, students and visitors to EI. This will include Directors, scientists, support staff, suppliers and VIPs (collaborators, government officials and politicians). They will be the first point of contact for EI when people visit or contact the Institute, therefore they must be friendly and demonstrate good customer service skills.

The ideal candidate:
To be considered for this post, candidates must be educated with at least 5 GCSEs or equivalent with reception duty experience. They will have excellent computer literacy in Microsoft Office Programs. 

Their work will focus on supporting the day to day operation of the Institute, manning the reception desk and telephone enquiries. In addition to reception duties, they will assist with booking travel arrangements, booking meeting rooms, and general administration support for the Institute.

Candidates do not need any prior knowledge of the type of research we do at Earlham Institute, as training will be provided, but wanting to join, and understand more about the work a team of passionate scientists and support staff deliver is critical for the right candidate.

Additional information:
Salary on appointment will be within the range £16,835 to £17,860 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.  This is a full-time post for a contract of 23 months.
