Assist is a growing Norwich-based organisation and for nearly 30 years it has supported hundreds of people with learning disabilities to become more independent in their lives. We are now looking to recruit more respectful, skilled and committed individuals to join our enthusiastic staff team, who can help us support many more members to become less dependent on services in the future.

Assistant Operation Manager

Hours: 37 per week: 8.30 to 4.30 weekdays, with occasional out of hours work as required.

Rate: Between £25k - £27k depending on experience and qualifications

Contract type: Permanent, subject to review after 6 months and 1 year.

Operations Managers at Assist take a supervisory role at the Trust, while helping to maintain a constant focus on the needs and wishes of the members attending (adults with learning disabilities). The role of an Assistant Operation Manager is to cover times of absence or staff shortage and be able to step up from general duties and take more of a lead role when required.

As well as helping to ensure that all services are running as smoothly as possible day to day, individuals must be able to manage supervisory functions as well as deal with out of the ordinary situations should they occur - being ready to support the rest of the management team when necessary.

Generally speaking, the Assistant Operation Manager position is not office based and, as well as running and helping to run groups and activities to help members develop their independence,  individuals will also key work a number of the members attending, acting as their main point of contact in all matters.

Individuals applying for the post of Assistant Operations Manager must therefore be able highly organised and effective individuals who can manage varying degrees of responsibility calmly and professionally as the need arises. Experience of acting in a supervisory position would be helpful but candidates must at least be able to demonstrate that they have the skills and aptitude required to manage a position at this level.
