Description: Assessor in Plumbing and Gas - Our Client is based in Ipswich who specialise in further education who have an exciting opportunity for a vocationally competent and Qualified Assessor in Plumbing and Gas to undertake assessments for level 2 and 3 students in the occupational areas of plumbing and gas.

As an Assessor in Plumbing and Gas, you will be required to recruit, train, assess and guide learners on apprenticeships and employer engagement programmes as well as working alongside the employer to support the learner throughout their qualification. Self-motivated and effective in personal time management and organisational skills. Passionate about delivering positive learning for students and a positive experience for employers.

As an Assessor you will be reporting to the Apprenticeship Manager and responsible for the following:

- Supporting employers and learners in the selection of relevant and appropriate components and levels of framework/standards
- Guidance, support and assessment of students work to the required level needed, and provide feedback on progress at both college and the learner's place of work
- Maintaining accurate students records including tracking and monitoring of progress of the apprentices on the required e-system.
- Carry out Health and Safety pre-vetting and monitoring of employers, including Risk Assessment and Accident Investigation and Reporting.
- Attend meetings to discuss assessment processes and achievements and various internal and external events which promote apprenticeships, including evening and weekends, as and when required.
- Responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.


Skills and attributes -

- Have relevant extensive industry experience and have a Level 3 NVQ in plumbing and gas registration.
- Level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent (GCSE Maths and English grade C)
- Level 3 Certificate in assessing Vocational Achievement (QCF)/A1 Assessor Award (D32, D33, TQA) or a commitment to achieving within a specified timeframe.
- Health and Safety qualification or commitment to achieve it within 12 months of appointment.
- Working knowledge of current Apprenticeship frameworks/standards
- Experience in customer service, excellent communication skills and have a good attention to detail and ability to produce consistent accurate work
- Ability to work to deadlines and meet targets
- A driving licence with access to a vehicle or other method of transport*


*Please Note: Due to the nature of this role, a driving licence or other method of transport is essential in order to travel to candidates' workplaces. Appointments will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Based at the Ipswich campus with travel to learner's workplaces, salary on offer is £23,460 to £25,503 per annum pro rata (plus market forces of up to £4,000 per annum). Contribution pension scheme, 20 days holiday rising to a maximum of 25 days holiday per annum pro rata, plus Bank Holidays and Christmas Closure Days.
